Market & Game Performance
Dynamic ranking: OMG 3Q More Than Doubles Revenue as Chiến Thú Hỗn Chiến Breaks into the Top 10
Appmagic data this week shows total revenue among Vietnam’s Top 50 mobile games reaching approximately USD 1.02 million, up around 4.3% from the previous week. Five titles climbed at least 10 positions, with OMG 3Q – Game Tam Quốc VNG and Chiến Thú Hỗn Chiến standing out as the week’s most notable movers. [1]
Rank Spike: 5 Titles Record Significant Ranking Gains
The following titles climbed at least 10 positions compared with the previous week (October 5–11):
- Chiến Thú Hỗn Chiến: from #29 to #6, up 23 positions, with approximately USD 31,074 in revenue.
- OMG 3Q – Game Tam Quốc VNG: from #40 to #10, up 30 positions, with approximately USD 25,515 in revenue.
- Last Z: Survival Shooter: from #51 to #37, up 14 positions, with approximately USD 11,989 in revenue.
- June’s Journey: Hidden Objects: from #53 to #38, up 15 positions, with approximately USD 11,923 in revenue.
- Hole It 3D: from #56 to #46, up 10 positions, with approximately USD 10,935 in revenue. [1]
For Chiến Thú Hỗn Chiến, AppMagic separated the game into two listings during October 5–11 but consolidated it into a single listing during October 12–18. To make a game-level revenue comparison, previous-week revenue was therefore calculated by combining both listings, for a total of approximately USD 26,404. Compared with USD 31,074 during October 12–18, actual growth was around 17.7%, meaning the title did not qualify as a Revenue Spike. [1]
Revenue Spike: OMG 3Q Revenue Rises 114.7%
OMG 3Q – Game Tam Quốc VNG was the only title this week to meet the Revenue Spike threshold. Revenue increased from approximately USD 11,884 in the previous week to USD 25,515 during October 12–18, equivalent to +114.7%, while its ranking simultaneously improved from #40 to #10. [1]
The combination of strong revenue and ranking growth made OMG 3Q the most notable movement in this week’s ranking.
New Release: No New Titles Recorded
During October 12–18, no title released within the past three months newly entered the Top 50 under the New Release criteria. [1]
Back-to-Top: 4 Titles Return to the Top 50
Four titles released more than three months ago returned to the Top 50:
- Last Z: Survival Shooter, at #37, with approximately USD 11,989 in revenue.
- June’s Journey: Hidden Objects, at #38, with approximately USD 11,923.
- Hole It 3D, at #46, with approximately USD 10,935.
- Nghịch Thủy Hàn, at #50, with approximately USD 10,768. [1]
Three of the four Back-to-Top titles also qualified as Rank Spikes, suggesting that movement in the lower half of the Top 50 this week was largely driven by established products gaining enough momentum to re-enter the ranking.
OMG 3Q: Revenue Spike Coincides with New Servers and Monetization Events
During October 12–18, OMG 3Q continued its operating cadence with two new servers: S988 – Thiên Khuyết on October 13 and S989 – Thanh Huyền on October 17. For S988, VNGGames simultaneously introduced new-player login rewards, a four-day cumulative top-up event, and a combat power ranking competition. [2][3]
On October 18, the game launched another monetization cycle featuring Thẻ Trợ Lực Bá Chủ, a direct-purchase offer combining purchase rewards, point-based rewards, and daily rewards, alongside Ưu Đãi Huyền Thú, a limited-time activity unlocked through spending or purchases. [4][5]
OMG 3Q more than doubling its revenue during the same week as new-server acquisition activities, top-up incentives, and limited-time purchase offers suggests that these LiveOps initiatives may have supported player spending activity. However, AppMagic data does not allow the contribution of each individual event to be isolated, so no single mechanic can be identified as the direct cause of the full 114.7% increase.
New Releases & Major Updates: Anniversary LiveOps, Halloween Content, and Two Products Expanding Their Market Presence
FC Mobile VN Rolls Out Its First Anniversary Update
On October 15, FC Mobile VN officially rolled out its First Anniversary Update. Ahead of the update, Garena announced multiple gameplay changes, including two new Mentalities, Ultra Attacking and Ultra Defensive, alongside adjustments to PlayStyles, physical contests, shooting, and player movement immediately after kick-off. [6]
During the same period, the game launched its Ann1versary player-card season, with Kylian Mbappé, Alphonso Davies, and Alessandro Nesta among the first players introduced. On October 16, Garena also announced plans to adjust stamina consumption related to Game Plans after monitoring player feedback and operational data. [7][8]
The fact that a major update was followed almost immediately by a balancing announcement shows that LiveOps in competitive games is not only about the scale of new content, but also the ability to deploy, monitor, and adjust after launch. A fast response to gameplay friction can play an important role in maintaining player experience following a major update.
Play Together VNG Enters Its Halloween LiveOps Cycle with Version 2.32.1
On October 15, Play Together VNG released version 2.32.1, launching its Sweet Halloween event cycle running into November. Content includes themed fishing activities, a cookbook system, Bloody Patisserie furniture, a bat pet, the Trick or Treat board game, and login rewards. [9]
The update also introduced BT21 Fluffy Halloween content featuring themed outfits and furniture. [9]
The combination of a seasonal event, collection loop, login rewards, crossover IP, and cosmetics continues to reflect Play Together’s multi-layered LiveOps model. Rather than relying on a single feature, multiple engagement touchpoints are deployed simultaneously to serve returning users, collectors, and players with a higher propensity to spend on cosmetic content.
Tam Quốc Quỷ Kế Officially Launches on October 16
On October 16, Tam Quốc Quỷ Kế, published by MYG, officially entered the Vietnamese market. The strategy card game combines a Three Kingdoms setting with supernatural elements, featuring turn-based automated combat and team-building mechanics. [10][11]
Vietnam’s game licensing database confirms that the title is a G1 game published by MYG Company Limited, under decision 571/QĐ-PTTH&TTĐT. [10]
Another new product choosing the Three Kingdoms + card strategy formula suggests that the combination continues to hold appeal in Vietnam, while also placing the title in a highly competitive segment. Beyond launch incentives, retention and the ability to differentiate through LiveOps will be more meaningful indicators of the title’s longer-term durability.
MYE Introduces Hào Khí Nữ Đế Ahead of Its October 20 Launch
On October 16 in Ho Chi Minh City, MYE introduced Hào Khí Nữ Đế, a historical-fantasy title combining RPG, management simulation, and strategy elements, with players developing a nation and family dynasty from the perspective of a female ruler. The game was confirmed for release on October 20, after the October 12–18 reporting period. [12][13]
According to the publisher, preparation and localization took more than a year, including the translation of over 3 million Chinese words, more than 3,000 voiced lines, and interface adaptations for the Vietnamese market. [12][13]
The notable point is the depth of localization beyond text translation, with voice-over, UI adaptation, and market positioning all implemented ahead of launch. For content-dense titles, deep localization can become part of the product strategy rather than simply a technical step before entering the Vietnamese market.
Esports & Community
Esports Highlights & Tournament Updates: Vietnamese Representatives Maintain Their Presence on the International Stage
MVK Esports Defeats FURIA Twice at the Worlds 2026 Play-In
During the week, MVK Esports began its campaign at the League of Legends World Championship 2026 Play-In. Under Riot Games’ format, the Play-In runs from October 16–19, with four teams competing for a single place in the Swiss Stage. [14]
MVK opened with a 3–0 victory over FURIA, before falling 0–3 to Karmine Corp. In the early hours of October 18 Vietnam time, the team defeated FURIA again, this time 3–1, advancing to the deciding match scheduled for October 19. [15]
As the deciding match took place after the October 12–18 reporting window, its result is not included in this week’s update.
Two victories over FURIA demonstrated that the Vietnamese representative remained competitive in the Play-In, although the limited number of matches is not sufficient to suggest a longer-term shift in regional strength. From a market perspective, continued Vietnamese representation on the Worlds stage nevertheless helps maintain visibility for the domestic League of Legends ecosystem among fans, sponsors, and publishers.
CFS 2026 Path Vietnam Begins with a USD 100,000 Prize Pool
On October 16, CFS 2026 Path Vietnam officially began with 12 CrossFire teams and a total prize pool of USD 100,000. The top three teams will qualify for the CFS 2026 Grand Finals in Wuhan, China. [16]
The first stage runs from October 16–21, followed by the decisive eight-team stage from October 23 to November 1. [16]
A direct qualification pathway from Vietnam to an international Grand Finals gives domestic competition value beyond that of a standalone national tournament. It provides stronger competitive incentives for teams while also expanding inventory that publishers, sponsors, and esports partners can activate around.
FC Mobile VN Introduces Liên Đoàn Đại Chiến in a Three-player Team Format
On October 12, FC Mobile VN announced Liên Đoàn Đại Chiến 2026, introducing a three-player team format for an in-game League-based competition for the first time. The tournament offers a total prize pool of VND 50 million, with matches scheduled from October 24 to November 8. [17]
Building competition directly around the game’s League structure creates a link between the in-game social layer and community esports. Compared with tournaments focused only on individual performance, the format may strengthen group-based retention by connecting competitive outcomes with the identity and activity of the wider in-game community.
LCP Promotion Series 2026 Comes to Ho Chi Minh City for the First Time
On October 15, Riot Games confirmed that the LCP Promotion Series 2026 will be held in Ho Chi Minh City for the first time, taking place at VPS Arena from November 10–13. [18]
The tournament will determine places in the 2027 LCP, with existing teams competing against qualifiers from domestic leagues and the Wild Card system. [18]
Bringing an event with direct implications for the competitive structure of the LCP to Ho Chi Minh City further highlights Vietnam’s potential role as an offline esports market within the APAC ecosystem. Beyond audience demand, such events also create additional touchpoints for venue operators, sponsors, and local community partners.
Industry & Business Developments
Studios, Publishers & Partnerships: Gunny Mobi Expands LiveOps through COSMOS IP Collaboration
During the week, Gunny Mobi announced a collaboration with COSMOS, bringing four Cosmos Bear characters — Iris, Pinky, Jasmine, and Daisy — into the game. The collaboration also accompanies new systems including Level 16 Đấu Trường Đỉnh Cao, Pet Phụ, and Búp Bê. [19]
For a long-running title, an IP collaboration can function as a content refresh layer without requiring changes to the core gameplay. Collectible character IP can also create additional opportunities for cosmetic content and community activation, although actual performance will still depend on how well the partner IP matches the game’s existing audience.
Marketing & User Acquisition Trends: CrossFire Builds a Longer-term Creator Pipeline
On October 12, VTC Online opened applications for the CrossFire Content Creator Program. Creators with at least one Facebook, TikTok, or YouTube channel with 1,000 followers/subscribers or more can apply if they meet the program’s CrossFire content production requirements. [20]
Benefits include the opportunity to receive VND 1 million in advertising support for selected content, livestream gift codes, content creation training, and a pathway to become a CrossFire Partner or join the Affiliate Program. [20]
The notable shift is from booking creators on a campaign-by-campaign basis toward building a creator pipeline with progression, combining organic content, paid amplification, and affiliate monetization. If sustained at sufficient scale, this approach could broaden distribution through a network of micro- and mid-tier creators rather than relying only on major KOLs or traditional paid UA.
