Market & Game Performance

Dynamic ranking: Chiến Thú Hỗn Chiến Breaks into the Top 30 as FC Mobile VN Climbs During Anniversary Week

Appmagic data this week shows four titles in Vietnam’s Top 50 mobile game revenue ranking climbing at least 10 positions. Total Top 50 revenue reached approximately USD 978,000, down around 33% from the previous week. Among the notable movements, Chiến Thú Hỗn Chiến recorded the largest ranking gain, while FC Mobile VN also stood out as its rise coincided with its first-anniversary content cycle. [1]

Because AppMagic separates some titles into platform-specific listings, the analysis below has been standardized by game title to avoid double counting. Where duplicate listings appear, the higher-ranked entry is used as the representative position.

Rank Spike: 4 Titles Record Significant Ranking Gains

The following titles climbed at least 10 positions compared with the previous week:

  • Chiến Thú Hỗn Chiến jumped 80 positions to #29, generating approximately USD 13,423.
  • FC Mobile VN climbed 14 positions to #31, with revenue of approximately USD 13,271.
  • Haunted Room: Ngôi Nhà Hắc Ám rose 15 positions to #43, generating approximately USD 11,425.
  • ICÁ climbed 15 positions to #44, with revenue of approximately USD 11,402. [1]

Chiến Thú Hỗn Chiến recorded the largest ranking movement and is also among the recently released titles. However, because the game was outside the Top 100 in the W40 dataset and appears as two separate platform listings in W41, the available data does not allow its exact week-over-week revenue growth to be determined at the game level.

Revenue Spike: No Title with Sufficient Data Reached the 100% Threshold

Among titles with sufficient W40 data for direct comparison, no game could be confirmed as recording revenue growth of at least 100% in W41. [1]

This suggests that the week’s most notable changes were primarily reflected in ranking movements and titles returning to the Top 50, rather than major revenue spikes among products with complete comparable data.

New Release: Two Recently Released Titles Enter the Top 50

Two titles released within the past three months newly entered the Top 50 this week:

  • Chiến Thú Hỗn Chiến, at #29, with approximately USD 13,423 in revenue; first released on September 26, 2026.
  • Tam Quốc Thú Hóa, at #48, with approximately USD 10,972 in revenue; first released on August 6, 2026. [1]

For Chiến Thú Hỗn Chiến, reaching the Top 30 only a few weeks after release is a signal worth monitoring. However, because AppMagic currently separates the game by platform, several more weeks of data will be needed to assess whether the position reflects a short-term launch spike or can translate into more sustained revenue performance.

Back-to-Top: Four Titles Return to the Top 50

Four titles released more than three months ago returned to the Top 50:

  • Haunted Room: Ngôi Nhà Hắc Ám, at #43, with approximately USD 11,425 in revenue.
  • ICÁ, at #44, with approximately USD 11,402.
  • Ta Làm Tông Sư Trong Tiên Môn, at #46, with approximately USD 11,093.
  • MLB 9 Innings 26, at #50, with approximately USD 10,932. [1]

The return of four titles across different genres again highlights the relatively high turnover near the lower end of Vietnam’s Top 50, where LiveOps beats, short-term events, or shifts in player spending can quickly move a title back into the ranking.

FC Mobile VN: Ranking Gain Coincides with First Anniversary Content Cycle

FC Mobile VN provides the clearest case this week for comparing AppMagic movement with live operations taking place during the same research period. On October 9, Garena published an overview of the FC Mobile VN First Anniversary Update, described as the game’s biggest update of the year to mark its first anniversary. The update introduced a new Tactics system supporting multiple Game Plans, two new PlayStyles, Anniversary events, a 2026/2027 transfer market update, and multiple gameplay adjustments. [2]

Earlier, on October 7, FC Mobile VN also announced a series of anniversary offline events scheduled across multiple locations from October 17 to November 1, combining community competitions, merchandise, and in-game rewards. [3]

FC Mobile VN’s 14-position rise during the same week as a major anniversary content beat suggests that the anniversary campaign may have contributed to supporting player interest and spending activity. However, the available AppMagic data does not allow the individual impact of gameplay updates, Anniversary content, player-card cycles, communications, or other factors on revenue movement to be isolated.

New Releases & Major Updates: Mộng Thiên Kiếm Moves into Pre-launch as Đột Kích Expands Localized LiveOps

Mộng Thiên Kiếm Confirms October 22 Launch

On October 9, Mộng Thiên Kiếm officially confirmed that it will launch at 10:10 AM on October 22, 2026. Published by DIGINEXT, the title is positioned as a wuxia-themed turn-based/idle RPG, allowing players to build teams of up to six heroes across PvE, PvP, Guild, and multiple progression systems. [4]

The launch plan also shows a relatively clear LiveOps and monetization structure from the outset, including First Top-up, consecutive top-up rewards, Battle Pass, daily missions, and a Spin Wheel. At launch, the inter-server Thiên Hạ Đệ Nhất – Tranh Bá Lực Chiến event will also begin, with rewards for the Top 100 players. [4]

Announcing the launch timing, progression systems, monetization mechanics, and launch event together indicates that the title is entering a relatively mature pre-launch phase rather than focusing solely on awareness. For publishers, this approach creates multiple engagement touchpoints from day one, although long-term performance will still depend on converting launch traffic into retention and sustained LiveOps.

Đột Kích Brings Hanoi-inspired Content into Its October 10 LiveOps Cycle

On October 6, Đột Kích announced the Kho Báu Hoàng Gia Sapphire Giải Phóng Thủ Đô event, running from October 7 to 21. The content introduces exclusive items designed by VTC Online and inspired by Hanoi and the October 10 anniversary of the capital’s Liberation Day. [5]

The event continues to use the Kho Báu Hoàng Gia spin mechanic, where players spend Gocoin to unlock themed rewards. The content cycle also includes QCMM GP and a Crossfire Star collection mechanic used to unlock character rewards. [5]

The case shows how LiveOps localization can go beyond translation, turning a local cultural milestone into visual identity, collectible content, and a monetization beat within the game. For long-running live-service titles, activations tied to local cultural calendars can create additional reasons for players to return without necessarily relying on a major gameplay update.

Esports & Community

Esports Highlights & Tournament Updates: Games ON Expands the National Stage as Women’s Esports Develops Clearer Competitive Pathways

Games ON: Hai Phong 2026 Brings National Esports into Public Spaces

On the evening of October 10, Games ON: Hai Phong 2026 officially opened at Hai Phong City Theatre Square and ran across October 10–11. Three finals within Vietnam’s national esports competition system formed the core of the event, which was also free and open to the public. [6][7]

Beyond competition, Games ON featured more than 20 PC and mobile games, creator meet-and-greets, technology experience zones, cosplay, music, and local food and commercial areas. The three main competitive events included the National League of Legends Championship Final, the Women’s Individual Teamfight Tactics National Championship, and a student Teamfight Tactics esports competition. [6][7]

On October 11, Nguyễn Thị Khánh Huyền defeated seven opponents to become the first female champion in Vietnam’s national Teamfight Tactics championship system. This was also the first time the national championship system included a dedicated women’s individual TFT category. [8]

By bringing competitive esports into a pedestrian public space and combining it with gaming experiences, technology, culture, and the local economy, Games ON operated more like a gaming festival than a standalone tournament. At the same time, the inclusion of women’s and student competitions suggests that Vietnam’s esports system is developing additional talent pipelines beyond the traditional professional player base.

GAM Esports Launches Its First Women’s Arena of Valor Team

On October 11, GAM Esports announced a women’s Arena of Valor roster for Queens of Glory Winter 2026. It is the first all-female roster in GAM’s history, consisting of six players and one coach. [9]

Queens of Glory is a women’s Arena of Valor competition system organized by Garena in Vietnam. GAM’s participation indicates that major esports organizations are beginning to commit more concrete resources to building competitive pathways for female players. [9]

From an ecosystem perspective, a stable competition system is more likely to create long-term impact when clubs have a reason to build rosters and invest in player development. GAM’s participation could therefore increase the visibility of women’s esports while creating additional opportunities for sponsorship, community growth, and talent development.

Industry Events & Community Activations: Publishers Expand Player Engagement through Offline Experiences

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary in Ho Chi Minh City

From October 9–11, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang held a series of 10th anniversary activities at AEON Mall Tan Phu Celadon in Ho Chi Minh City. The three-day program included interactive activities, limited-edition gifts, check-in areas, and a showmatch featuring KOLs and esports players on October 9. [10]

For an IP with a long-established community, offline activities can extend engagement beyond the in-game environment. Combining creators, esports talent, and community experiences also enables publishers to turn a brand milestone into a retention touchpoint, rather than treating an anniversary purely as a short-term communications campaign.

Industry & Business Developments

Studios, Partnerships & Talent Development: PTIT and XGame Expand Practice-based Game Training

PTIT and XGame Studio Open XGame Lab

On October 6, the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) and XGame Studio officially opened XGame Lab at PTIT’s Ngoc Truc campus. The facility is designed for students in Game Design and Development, Game Graphic Design, Information Technology, Multimedia Technology, and related programs. [11]

XGame Lab is designed to simulate a real business working environment, helping students develop ideas into products and gain exposure to real-world projects. The initiative represents the next stage of the PTIT–XGame partnership, which includes internships, seminars, professional training, participation of industry experts in teaching, and support for project development. [11]

For Vietnam’s game industry, the model is notable for its potential to narrow the gap between education and the production environment. If supported by meaningful project work, mentoring, and internships, similar programs could improve the job-readiness of Vietnam’s game industry talent pool.

Brand & Community Marketing: Gamota & GiG Build a More Unified Ecosystem Identity

Gamota & GiG Introduce a New Brand Identity and GiGi Mascot

On October 8, Gamota & GiG officially introduced a new brand identity and mascot, GiGi. The logo system and visual identity were updated to create greater consistency across platforms, products, and communications, with #0988FC blue becoming the primary brand color. [12]

GiGi takes the form of a goat and serves as the brand’s “Game Buddy”, with plans for the mascot to appear across communications content, digital platforms, community activities, events, and branded products. GiGi is also tied to the brand message “Game is Good.” [12]

From a game marketing perspective, developing a mascot that can appear across multiple products reflects an ecosystem-level branding approach rather than building identity solely around individual games. A consistent brand asset across multiple touchpoints can help maintain continuity between different campaigns and communities, although its long-term effectiveness will still depend on how deeply the mascot is integrated into future user experiences.
