Market & Game Performance
Dynamic ranking: MMORPG, Open World RPG, and Teamfight Tactics titles accelerate on the revenue chart
AppMagic data this week shows that Vietnam’s Top 50 mobile game revenue chart saw several notable shifts, particularly across MMORPG, Open World RPG, and Teamfight Tactics titles. During the week of June 8–14, 2026, the market did not record any Revenue Spike meeting the threshold of 100% growth or higher. However, clear movements were observed across Rank Spike, Recent Release, and Back-to-top segments.
Rank Spike: Titles with significant ranking gains
This week, three titles recorded ranking gains of 10 positions or more compared with the previous week:
- Soul Land: Awakening World rose 10 positions to #16, with estimated revenue of $32,977.
- Đấu Trường Chân Lý: LMHT Teamfight Tactics rose 10 positions to #19, with estimated revenue of $28,881.
- Genshin Impact – Funtap rose 15 positions to #22, with estimated revenue of $25,993.
Among these titles, Genshin Impact – Funtap was the most notable case, recording the strongest ranking gain of the week. This movement was likely linked to Phase 2 of Version 6.6, which began on June 9 and runs until June 30, almost fully overlapping with the observation week. Phase 2 introduced Lohen, a new 5-star Cryo polearm character, alongside a rerun banner for Mavuika.

This banner structure has strong potential to stimulate spending within the gacha segment. On one hand, a new character like Lohen encourages players to experiment with new gameplay and triggers FOMO among meta-focused players. On the other hand, Mavuika is a high-recognition rerun character, making the banner appealing not only to new players but also to those who missed the character in previous banner cycles.
Notably, Lohen’s banner also includes 4-star characters such as Bennett and Xiangling, two units that are widely valued across many team compositions. When combined with Lohen, these characters can form a fairly practical team framework, making the banner attractive not only for collecting a new character but also for helping players quickly build a functional team.
In addition, the weapon banner featuring the signature weapons of Lohen and Mavuika adds a second layer of spending after players obtain the characters. This is a familiar monetization model among major gacha titles: the new character creates the first spending spike, while weapons and team optimization extend the spending cycle over the following days.

Đấu Trường Chân Lý also showed a notable ranking signal as Patch 17.5 was deployed during the observation week. This update focused on buffing several champions that had not yet found a stable place in the K.O. Coliseum set, while also making broad adjustments to Augments. For a seasonal strategy game like Teamfight Tactics, meta changes often encourage players to return and test new team compositions, supporting both activity and short-term revenue.
Recent Release & Back-to-top: Ever Night: Thức Tỉnh – OEG enters the Top 50 as older titles return
This week recorded one new entrant in the Top 50 revenue chart:
- Ever Night: Thức Tỉnh – OEG entered the chart at #26, with estimated revenue of $22,618. The game was released on May 22, 2026, and belongs to the Idle RPG subgenre.
The fact that Ever Night: Thức Tỉnh – OEG entered the Top 50 less than one month after launch shows that Idle RPG remains a segment capable of generating quick revenue in Vietnam. With power progression systems, server openings, beginner missions, and login incentives, Idle RPGs often have an advantage in the early launch phase, as they can convert trial users into small- and mid-spending players relatively quickly.
Alongside this new entrant, this week’s ranking also saw the return of several previously launched titles:
- Vượt Tường Thép returned to the Top 50 at #28, with estimated revenue of $18,903.
- Dragon Traveler VN returned to the Top 50 at #49, with estimated revenue of $11,773.
- Thợ Săn Quỷ: Đại Chiến Dị Giới returned to the Top 50 at #50, with estimated revenue of $11,297.
The return of titles in the 4X Strategy and Idle RPG segments shows that Vietnam still has a relatively stable core player base for games with long-term gameplay loops. While these titles may not generate the same level of buzz as new releases, the Back-to-top segment remains important because it reflects the effectiveness of LiveOps, server events, and player reactivation campaigns.
New Releases & Major Updates: Football games, MMORPGs, and Idle RPGs create key highlights this week
This week, Vietnam’s game market saw several notable activities across new releases and major updates. A common point among these products is that each offered a clear “reason to enter the game”: the World Cup, Vietnamese football players, Vietnamese cultural identity, power progression loops, or collectible content tailored specifically to the local market.

Top Football Club officially launched in Vietnam on June 11, with Vietnamese footballer Nguyễn Văn Toàn serving as a key marketing highlight. The game leverages FIFPro licensing, international football players, and the image of a Vietnamese athlete to strengthen its visibility during the World Cup season. This is a timely approach, as football can attract attention beyond core gamers and reach the broader sports audience.

In the MMORPG segment, Lạc Thần Chiến Ca launched on June 9 and differentiated itself by drawing on Văn Lang – Âu Lạc materials, Vietnamese legends, and the spirit of “descendants of the Dragon and Fairy.” This is a noteworthy direction, as Vietnam’s RPG market has long been familiar with wuxia, xianxia, and Chinese-Korean fantasy settings. A product that chooses to explore Vietnamese identity could open up a more distinctive positioning, provided that the game can sustain its operational quality after launch.

Kiếm Linh Du Ký also officially launched this week, entering the Idle RPG card-based segment with inspiration from the Classic of Mountains and Seas. The game follows a familiar Idle RPG formula: easy accessibility, multiple mission milestones, server rankings, and power progression activities. This shows that Idle RPG remains a product category that is relatively easy to support with launch campaigns in Vietnam, especially when it can quickly create a sense of competition during the first days of a new server.

Beyond new releases, FC Online continued to demonstrate the strength of localized LiveOps by launching the Infinite Prime card season exclusively for the Vietnamese server. The player list includes Nguyễn Quang Hải alongside international football legends such as Ronaldo de Lima, Michael Essien, Lúcio, and Claudio Marchisio. By placing a Vietnamese player alongside global football icons, the content gains both international appeal and strong local relevance for the domestic player community.
Esports & Community
Garena and FC Online expand their community through Legend Match

This week, the Legend Match organized by Garena at the Military Zone 7 Indoor Sports Arena in Ho Chi Minh City continued to generate notable media attention for Vietnam’s football game community. The event featured several international football legends, including Carles Puyol, Xavi, Claude Makélélé, and Michel Salgado, and was broadcast on Garena, FC Online, and FC Mobile’s official platforms.
The significance of this event goes beyond a single exhibition match. For football games, large-scale offline activities help expand reach from gamers to the broader sports fan community. This is a form of community marketing with strong spillover potential, especially as the World Cup increases demand for football-related content and discussion.
Street Fighter 6 opens the path to Esports Nations Cup 2026
Source: Thanh Niên
In international esports, Street Fighter 6 opened registration for the Southeast Asian qualifier to select the region’s representative for Esports Nations Cup 2026 in Riyadh. The “Road to ENC 26: Street Fighter 6 – Southeast Asia” qualifier is held online in a 1v1 format, targeting the regional fighting game community.
For Vietnam, this is a positive signal even though it is not a standalone domestic tournament. Esports titles beyond MOBA, FPS, and battle royale are gaining more opportunities to enter international competition systems under a national-team model. In the long term, this could help diversify Vietnam’s esports landscape and reduce reliance on only a few core titles.
Industry & Business Developments
LORDNINE continues to reinforce the strategy of bringing Korean MMORPGs to Vietnam
Source: 2Game
Ahead of its official launch on June 15, LORDNINE: Cửu Vương Tranh Bá continued to be positioned as one of the most notable MMORPG titles of the month. The game emphasizes a dark fantasy world, the Infinite Class system, and community-driven gameplay around PvP, bosses, and guilds.
From a business perspective, LORDNINE is a case worth following because it continues to reflect a familiar strategy among major publishers in Vietnam: selecting Korean IPs with strong visual quality, gameplay depth, and hardcore community potential, then localizing operations for the domestic market. For long-time MMORPG players, retention depends not only on visual quality but also on the sense of community, competition, and long-term reasons to invest time in the game.
Policy & Infrastructure
Regulatory Developments & Compliance Updates: Resolution 80 and the question of how Vietnam can retain more value from its game industry
Source: Thể thao & Văn hóa
This week, policy discussions around Resolution 80 continued to place games within the broader context of cultural industries and the digital economy. The notable point is that games are no longer viewed merely as entertainment, but increasingly as a sector capable of creating jobs, advancing technology, exporting digital content, and promoting Vietnamese culture.
However, a major question remains: how can Vietnam retain more of the value created by its own studios and talent? Some analyses point out that many Vietnamese game startups still tend to establish legal entities overseas, while the domestic market remains heavily dependent on foreign games in the legally published segment.
This is an important signal for both domestic companies and international partners. A clear, fair, and innovation-friendly regulatory environment will be the foundation for Vietnam not only to remain strong in game production volume, but also to become stronger in publishing capability, commercialization, and long-term IP building.
