- Tam Quốc Chí-Chiến Lược and Nhất Niệm Tiêu Dao – Gzone were the two titles that recorded revenue growth of more than 100% compared with the previous week.
- TS Origin – VTC quickly entered the Top 50 revenue ranking during its official launch/Open Beta week, reflecting initial market interest in nostalgia-driven titles in Vietnam.

- Online game regulation also remained in focus, as Decree 174/2026/NĐ-CP introduced penalties for game service providers that fail to authenticate player accounts using phone numbers in Vietnam.
Market & Game Performance
Dynamic ranking: Strategy games, Idle RPGs, and nostalgia-driven new entrants drive movement in the Top 50 revenue chart
Appmagic data this week shows that Vietnam’s Top 50 mobile game revenue ranking recorded several notable movements among long-running titles, particularly in the 4X Strategy, Idle RPG, and Team Battler subgenres. At the same time, TS Origin – VTC also entered the Top 50 during its official launch/Open Beta week.
Rank Spike: Titles with significant ranking gains
During the week, several titles climbed by 10 positions or more compared with the previous week. Highlights include:
- Tam Quốc Chí-Chiến Lược rose 52 positions to #37, with estimated revenue of $19,084.
- Nhất Niệm Tiêu Dao – Gzone rose 29 positions to #25, with estimated revenue of $27,240.
- HÀNH TRÌNH AFK – TRAVELLET VN rose 22 positions to #46, with estimated revenue of $16,294.
- OMG 3Q – Game Tam Quốc VNG rose 12 positions to #27, with estimated revenue of $26,803.
- Lords Mobile – Gamota rose 10 positions to #41, with estimated revenue of $18,120.
The presence of multiple strategy and Idle RPG titles among this week’s ranking climbers suggests that mid-core games can still generate noticeable weekly revenue movements. For these products, short-term changes are often linked to live operations, in-game events, or returning activity from existing player communities.
Revenue Spike: Tam Quốc Chí-Chiến Lược and Nhất Niệm Tiêu Dao both recorded over 100% revenue growth
In terms of revenue growth, two titles recorded increases of more than 100% compared with the previous week:
- Tam Quốc Chí-Chiến Lược increased revenue by 109.60%, reaching $19,084 and climbing to #37.
- Nhất Niệm Tiêu Dao – Gzone increased revenue by 101.93%, reaching $27,240 and climbing to #25.
These are notable movements for the week, but they should be read as short-term signals rather than stable long-term trends. For long-running games, weekly revenue increases may come from several factors, including limited-time events, in-game offers, player reactivation campaigns, or competitive cycles within existing communities.

According to the official fanpage of Tam Quốc Chí-Chiến Lược, before and during the observation period, the game ran several activities related to #ServerSS1DễChơiMới, including the launch of a new server, a new SS1 storyline, and the Trường An battlefield map. On May 30, the game also announced the opening of Server32 Tứ Hải. These activities may have contributed to bringing players back or creating additional short-term spending incentives within the strategy game community.
For Nhất Niệm Tiêu Dao – Gzone, its 101.93% revenue increase also coincided with a server maintenance update on May 26 to introduce new May events. This is a reasonable signal, as Idle RPG and cultivation-themed games often see revenue movement around limited-time events, login rewards, accumulated missions, or update-period offers.
New Release & Back-to-top: TS Origin entered the Top 50, while familiar titles returned to the ranking
This week, the Top 50 revenue ranking recorded two titles released within the past three months:
- TS Origin – VTC (#31, ~$21,870) – MMORPG.
- Township – Thị trấn vui vẻ (#45, ~$17,402) – Farming.
The Back-to-top group also contributed to this week’s ranking movement, including:
- Nhất Niệm Tiêu Dao – Gzone (#25, ~$27,240) – Idle RPG.
- Tam Quốc Chí-Chiến Lược (#37, ~$19,084) – 4X Strategy.
- Lords Mobile – Gamota (#41, ~$18,120) – 4X Strategy.
- HÀNH TRÌNH AFK – TRAVELLET VN (#46, ~$16,294) – Idle RPG.
Among the New Release group, TS Origin – VTC was the most notable case of the week. According to the official announcement from TS Origin VTC, the game officially launched/Open Beta on May 28, 2026, which falls directly within the observation week. This provides the clearest explanation for why the game quickly appeared in the Top 50 revenue ranking at #31, with estimated revenue of $21,870. Some responses under the launch post also suggest that the game received a certain level of interest from players waiting to experience TS Origin – VTC on launch day.

Beyond its official launch timing, TS Origin – VTC also benefits from nostalgia. AFKMobi described the game as a title that brings players back to a familiar Three Kingdoms world, featuring turn-based gameplay, a pet system, and a grinding experience associated with the original TS Online. This may have helped attract returning interest from older player groups during the launch week.

However, first-week performance only reflects initial market interest. For games built around existing IPs or brand nostalgia, longer-term retention will still depend on server operations, gameplay balance, event design, and the pace of content updates after launch.
New Releases & Major Updates: Ragnarok opens Closed Beta in Vietnam

THS Game opened the Closed Beta for Ragnarok: Huyền Thoại MMO in Vietnam from 10:00 on May 26 to 10:00 on June 2, 2026. The game recreates the world of Ragnarok Online in 3D and allows Vietnamese players to experience an early test version on iOS and Android.
This is a notable example of how familiar MMORPG IPs continue to be refreshed for mobile platforms. In Vietnam, nostalgia can help generate early attention, but longer-term performance will still depend on localization quality, community experience, and the ability to maintain content after the testing phase.

On the evening of May 31, Vietnam’s SECRET WAG won Free Fire World Series Southeast Asia 2026 Spring in Ho Chi Minh City, defeating 11 Southeast Asian opponents and taking home a prize of VND 2.6 billion. This was the first time a Vietnamese team won FFWS SEA on home soil.
The victory was a positive highlight for Vietnam’s Free Fire esports scene this week. From a market perspective, the result helps sustain community attention around Free Fire, while also showing that regional esports events hosted in Vietnam can generate strong media impact when a home team performs well.

FC Pro Masters 2026 took place from May 28 to 31 in Shanghai, bringing together eight teams from Vietnam, Thailand, South Korea, and China. Vietnam’s two representatives were FPT Polytechnic and Star Galaxy. The top four teams would qualify for FC Pro Champions Cup.
The presence of two Vietnamese representatives at FC Pro Masters shows that Vietnam’s FC Online ecosystem continues to maintain visibility at regional competitions. This is a positive signal for a football game IP with a large local community, although its broader market impact will still need to be tracked through viewer interest and post-tournament community activity.
Policy & Infrastructure
From July 1, game providers may face fines of up to VND 60 million for failing to authenticate accounts by phone number
Source: LuatVietnam.vn
Decree 174/2026/NĐ-CP will take effect on July 1, 2026. Under the new regulation, game service providers that fail to authenticate player accounts using phone numbers in Vietnam may be fined VND 20–40 million for G2/G3/G4 games and VND 40–60 million for G1 games.
This regulation is an important point for publishers that are currently operating in Vietnam or preparing to bring games into the market. Its practical impact may appear across player onboarding, account management, data authentication, and compliance preparation before launch. For foreign publishers, these requirements should be considered during launch planning rather than handled only after release.
