Vietnam Game Industry Weekly Updates: March 16-22, 2026

Recap of the Week

  • No new games (released in the last 3 months) entered the Top 50; instead, previously released titles made a comeback.
  • Some titles recorded simultaneous growth in both rank and revenue, notably WARPATH: Huân Chương Chiến Hỏa, instead of fluctuating in only one metric.
  • Long-standing games returned to the rankings, such as Garena RoV, demonstrating that short-term activities can still create a clear impact.
  • Esports maintained its presence through events and community activities, while also attracting attention from the personal stories of players.

Market & Game Performance

Dynamic Ranking: Many Titles Record Strong Growth in Revenue Rankings

This week’s data from AppMagic shows that the mobile game market in Vietnam continues to record notable fluctuations in both rank and revenue. Besides the titles with significant rank increases and sudden revenue growth, the Top 50 chart also saw some new names or returning titles.

Rank Spike: Some Titles With Significant Rank Increase

This week, several titles recorded an increase of 10 ranks or more compared to the previous week. Highlights include:

  • Genshin Impact – Funtap increased by 12 ranks, reaching position #19.
  • WARPATH: HUẤN CHƯƠNG CHIẾN HÒA increased by 19 ranks, reaching position #25.

These fluctuations indicate that some titles have seen positive shifts in weekly performance, though further monitoring in the coming weeks is needed to determine a clearer trend.

Revenue Spike: Some Games’ Revenue Increased by Over 100%

In addition to the change in rank, some titles also recorded a revenue increase of over 100% compared to the previous week. Noteworthy:

  • Rise of Kingdoms – Gamota achieved +118.25% revenue, with an estimated amount of $73.8K, while simultaneously rising to position #5.
  • WARPATH: HUẤN CHƯƠNG CHIẾN HÒA increased by +119.92% in revenue, reaching $24.6K.

Overall, these increases show that some titles are having a better operating week compared to the previous period, which may stem from LiveOps, player activation campaigns, or short-term in-game activities.

New Entrants: Some New Titles Appeared in This Week’s Top 50 Revenue

This week did not record any new games (released in the last 3 months) entering the Top 50 revenue. Instead, all appearing titles belong to the back-to-top group, meaning they returned to the rankings after being absent last week.

  • Garena RoV: RoV Day (#12, ~$55.8K)
  • Tiệm Tạp Hóa Thời Gian – VSI (#44, ~$13.6K)
  • Yong Heroes 2: Storm Returns (#46, ~$13.2K)
  • Nhất Niệm Tiêu Dao – Gzone (#49, ~$12.7K)

This development shows that the fluctuations in the Top 50 this past week primarily came from previously released titles, rather than the addition of new products.

For example, Garena RoV: RoV Day, a game launched approximately 9 years ago in Vietnam, also returned to the rankings this week, coinciding with the deployment of new content such as the Krixi Kimono, Triệu Vân Chiến Thần Vô Song skins, and the Beach Party theme skin set (Astrid, Mina, Tel’Annas).

Developer Top App Games has launched the PvP strategy game Ludus: Merge Arena in Vietnam, marking an expansion into the Southeast Asian region. Previously, the game had achieved over 8 million installs and approximately $3 million in monthly revenue in other markets [2].

The choice of Vietnam as one of the expansion markets demonstrates the region’s appeal for mid-core games. However, the actual effectiveness will still require more time to assess, especially in an increasingly competitive environment.

Esports & Community

The esports ecosystem expands through events and community activities
